Atari 2600 Inducted Into Toy Hall Of Fame

In case you haven't been keeping up with the Joneses over at GayGamer, the Atari 2600 has now joined the ranks with the likes of Frisbee, Barbie, Etch-a-Sketch and Mr. Potato Head by being inducted into Strong National Museum of Play's "Hall of Fame."
"It may look primitive compared to the advanced video game systems available today, but it helped make these possible," said the museum's curator, Patricia Hogan.
First introduced in 1977, the Atari 2600 became the most popular console of the time, giving us many classic games that paved the foundations of the video game industry. I myself remember playing my very own Atari back when I was a little tyke (which must have been a bit worn in age at the time - I'm not that old!).
It is the first electronic device to be inducted.
This news comes behind many stories involving Atari's current financial troubles, further rubbing salt in the wound, I'm sure. Oh, how far have you fallen, Atari.

One way or another, Microsoft will try to sell you a phone.
I so have to get back to my port of Ballblazer to the 2600. That system is already the best example of a machine pushed far beyond its limits by creative coding, but it really needs more split screen first person 3D stuff.
o.O
I can't even begin to think about the hoops you have to go through to pull something like that off.
Yeah, it's kinda funny the shortcuts you can take. I have a really crude prototype of it (not very convincing due to no perspective, but it really is split screen first-person 3D) on my old website, kudla.org.
Since then I came up with a way to get the perspective looking decent, but I'm not sure I can do it in 4096 bytes anymore.
