Gadget Of The Week: Kindle - Because It Exists, And People Buy It. Apparently.
I was all up in Den Den Boy's grill with his original take on the Kindle - why would anyone want a $400 book reader that's no smaller than a real book? And until/unless Amazon sends us a review copy, I won't be exploring that idea much further. Still, the strong sales of the device were enough to draw my attention - that and the sheer weirdness of the lil guy qualifies him for this week's featured gadget!
Anyone out there snatch one of these babies, or want to?

3D iPhone glasses. Why?
i really want to TRY one. i've wanted a good ebook reader for years now, but it has to (1) read PDF, TXT, and DOC files natively, and (2) work with a mac. i hear conflicting stories about the kindle on both counts. so, the only way to find out would be to try for myself. but i'm not forking out $400 to do it. hello, mr. bezos? long time customer here, willing to shout from the mountaintops for you if you'll let me try your lil' device with my mac, and it works....

It does not read PDF or DOC files. It does read plain txt files.
You can e-mail documents to the Kindle, so it is Mac compatible.
