HD Format War Update: Sales Through 11/4/2007

For those following the format wars, Nielsen VideoScan sales data ending the week of November 4, 2007 has Blu-ray once again taking the lead.
As you can see in the pretty pie charts to the right, Blu-ray is leading in every category so far, with a very healthy 71% the week ending Nov. 4 against the impressive HD-DVD sales of Transformers.
Total number of titles available also goes to Blu-ray, with 332 versus HD-DVD's 328, and a scheduled release of 66 more Blu-ray titles and 42 more for HD-DVD.
Remember, these numbers have yet to take into account the crazy $99 dollar HD-DVD player sales that happened recently, so the number might swing back in HD-DVD's favour once the new data comes in (of course, Blu-ray also saw the release this past week of Ratatouille and Cars, two titles which are sure to sell well during the holiday season).

If it ain't broke... cease production. Right?
And lest we forget that Blu-Ray recently released the Spiderman trilogy with the delicious Tobey Maguire.... That's going to skew some stats....
