German Court Overturns Injunction Against T-Mobile, No More Unlocked iPhones

Apple's iPhone (German Version)

Hamburg court has overturned the temporary injunction issued against T-Mobile by Vodafone in Germany, deciding that tying iPhones to 2 year contracts does not violate German consumer laws. T-Mobile had been required to sell unlocked iPhones for the 2 weeks the injunction was in place (at 999 euro a piece!).

T-Mobile Germany has promised; however, to unlock customers' iPhones for free at the end of the 2 year contract.

This leaves France as the only country that will have unlocked iPhones available to consumers without contracts.
