Awesome New ASIMO Won't Fall Down Stairs. We Hope.

Honda's announced a new series of ASIMO robots that incorporate "cutting-edge intelligence technologies" and will supposedly beef up the friendly domestic assistant by speeding up his pace and not falling down stairs - which as any domestic worker will tell you is rule #1 to making it in the service industry. Master them damn stairs.

The new ASIMO is also able to "operate autonomously with people and other ASIMOs," which we presume does not include global domination or organic genocide. The robots will now be able to share tasks and work together so that the service they provide to humans are uninterrupted - ASIMO will now automatically charge (7 of 9 much?) and avoid oncoming objects. We're talking tray-carrying, trolley-pushing, full-on-R2D2-on-Jabba's-Pleasure-Barge action, people.
