Nintendo To Set Up Official Wii Rain-Check Program!

Big news for exasperated parents and others of you out there who have yet to get your hands on a Wii (my precious sits happily beside my HDTV, giving me countless hours of Mario, Metroid, and Zelda goodness, but I'm not bragging or anything - no, not at all): Nintendo is going to be establishing an official Wii rain-check program!
How does it work? You fork over the price of the Wii ($249 + tax) in December, and you will be guaranteed delivery of a Wii by the end of January. The program is not yet active, but will begin next Friday.
Word on the street is that this rain-check program involves a partnership with GameStop, so be prepared to endure lots of pre-order sales pitches in order to put your order in. Just say no.
