Rumorama: Jonathan Ive Is The Crown Prince Of Apple?

Jonathan Ives

It appears that talk has been buzzing lately about who will replace the venerable Apple C.E.O. Steve Jobs. The 52-year old Jobs, while not necessarily at retirement age just yet, has been feeling the pressure to name a clear successor. Many worry that a company built so strongly on the vision and effort of one man will not be able to survive once that man leaves his post, so the public is starting to call out for an heir. And who, one might ask, are the calling for? None other than Senior Vice President of Industrial Design (and gym-bunny/daddy/cutie) Jonathan Ive!

Jony, as he's known amongst his circle of friends (well, that's what Den Den Boy tells me anyway), has been with Apple for some time now and has been behind the development of the iMac and the wildly popular iPhone. It is also pretty well known that Ive and Jobs stay in daily contact. He is also know to have the same hard-line approach to perfection that has both served and plagued Jobs.

Up to this point, however, Ive has been seen as a bit of a publicity-shy fella, and with Jobs taking such a center role in pushing the company's products, would Ive step in and do the same thing, or would he take a bit more of a back seat role. And will anyone truly be able to replace Jobs?

All I know is that Ive is far cuter than Jobs. I may not be the biggest fan of Apple, but I have a feeling that if Ive personally asked me to us a Mac, I'd probably just giggle a bit and start my journey into the annals of the Mac OS X.
