Video: Phillipe Starck On The Amazon Kindle
Some of you may have disagreed with my assessment that the Amazon Kindle had hit every branch of the ugly tree on the way down to Amazon's warehouses, but now, my opinion has gained legitimacy from none other than design guru Phillipe Starck himself:
Highlights from the video include Phillipe Starck calling the Amazon Kindle "a little sad," and also criticising the page button placement:
"... it is not well done. When you grab it, you immediately push [the page turn button]"
But my favourite quote of all has to be this:
The concept is modern, but the design is less modern, because the guy... [doesn't] want this appeal
BAM! Amazon Kindle, you've just been Starcked! You can go cry in the corner with all the other 80s designed gadgets I have in that box in my closet.
