Candidates Weigh In On Tech Issues

It should come as no surprise to our readers that I have a passion for politics. I've been doing my best to keep our readers up-to-date on the Presidential candidates and their technology platforms (see my posts on Presidential Gadgets and Geek The Vote). I don't suspect that anyone reading this blog is a single-issue voter, but having a well-rounded understanding of what each candidate stands for is essential. It just so happens that technology is our focus, so that's where I try to help as much as possible.
CNet recently posted up their News.com 2008 Technology Voters' Guide. This is a pretty decent gathering of candidate stance information, in my opinion. News.com compiled the information based on a survey issued to the Presidential hopefuls (well, at least the one's that responded). Candidates Mitt Romney, Mike Huckabee, Rudy Giuliani, Fred Thompson, Joe Biden and Bill Richardson chose not to respond to the survey, which may give this a slightly biased slant. At least with this survey, the Republican heavy-weights have chosen to stay away, which concerns me a bit, but their stances have been documented in other articles.
It is definitely worth a look. As of the time of this writing, only Hillary Clinton's page and Barack Obama's page has been posted, with John McCain, Ron Paul, John Edwards and Chris Dodd to follow in the next few days. It does seem a bit telling, however, that only the more "progressive" candidates even bothered to respond to this issue.
