CES 2008: Homotron's Reflections

As the consumer wonder-fest that is CES 2008 draws to a close, we here at Homotron wanted to take a moment to reflect on some of the more fascinating things we saw emerge from CES this year. While none of us were able to make it to CES this time around, we still worked diligently to pull together the neatest tech toys and announcements from the show.
It seems that technology always has a way of stirring the proverbial pot. Whether it's the rumored conversion of Microsft to support Blu-Ray drives or the implementation of cybornetic implants into the medical world, people will always have stong feelings about the technology they own or support.
With all controversy aside, here are some of the Homotron Highlights of CES 2008:
- Motorola announces the RCKR E8. Because of it's innovative control scheme and aesthetic, our very own Tiny Dancer named it our Gadget of the Week.
- In other phone news, Giorgio Armani launches it's new hi-end fashion phone, perpetuating the invasion of the tech world by the fahionistas.
- Speaking of fashion, BuiltNY promoted their new line of glamorous laptop bags.
- Texas Instruments wants us to be able to annoy anyone, anywhere with our latest vacation slide-show.
- Den Den brought us all sorts of Blu-Ray news. While some of it turned out to be only rumors, what is for sure is that HD DVD seems to be on it's last legs.
- Bug Labs brought us a cool new interchangeable gadget.
- The BBC offered up it's ideas on the coolest gadgets of CES 2008.
- XM and Sirius announced their move into the GPS and in-car display markets. Now if only I could get Howard Stern's voice as the navigation voice over...
It seems like it was over so fast, and I know we weren't able to cover it all. But never fear, my dear Homotron readers, next week sees the advent of the Adult Entertainment Expo and Mac World!
What were you favorite moments, gadgets, gizmos and widgets from CES this year? Sound of in the comments and let us know what you thought of CES 2008!
