Hello Kitty Goes Postal

I believe I've openly expressed my love for all things Sanrio before. I just can't get enough of the cuddly Hello Kitty merch, it's all so pink and wonderful! I see the cute decal and smile. But not too long ago, Sanrio announced its intentions to reshape the Hello Kitty line to target boys as well... but I didn't really think it would lead to this!

A story over on Digg shows us a wonderfully decorated and detailed Hello Kitty Assault Rifle! While I would like to say that I'm jealous and I want it now (my usual reaction to new Hello Kitty merch), I just can't bring myself to do it.

It seems that there have been photoshopped images like this before, which makes me sad for two reasons: 1) One should never mock the greatness of Hello Kitty; 2) Someone spent their personal time, not getting paid, to Photoshop a Hello Kitty assault rifle.

Whether it's real or not, I can't say, but it's a fun pic and gives me some great gift ideas for my gun-enthusiast step-dad.
