Homotron Week In Review: Weeks Ending 01/05/2008

Hello and welcome to the first edition of the Homotron Week in Review for 2008! All of us here at the Homotron labs in GG castle would like to wish you a Happy New Years and hope you had a great holiday break. We're getting down to business here in the castle after more than a few nights of drunken debauchery (all instigated by Tiny Dancer, undisputed King of Debauchery.)
Speaking of business, here's what you may have missed in the last couple of weeks since our last Week in Review:
- Jesse James has been bringing you the latest in technology related 2008 election coverage with candidate selection tools, two different websites on each candidate's position on tech issues, and their favourite gadgets.
- Sony finally wakes up and smells the DRM-free coffee.
- Microsoft wants to spy on every move you make. It's for your own good though, really!
- In iPhone news: 3G is pretty much confirmed with rumours of a Japanese release, and firmware v1.1.3 is exposed on the Internet for all to see.
- Did you know all that sperm could have been powering super awesome robots? Yeah, I felt kinda bad too, but only for a little while.
- AOL announces that they're pulling the tube on an old friend of the Internet bubble days.
- Jesse James sees the light and grudgingly gives Apple some credit for its success as of late. I danced a little jig.
- Caveat Emptor: the Viore HDTV Wizard Portable HDTV Tuner for PC is a piece of crap.
- Uncle Tiny helps readers out with picking a DVR (*cough* get a TiVo *cough*).
- The Army toughens up its security by seeing the light and buying more Macs. Go Army!
- Think Secret, one of the biggest Apple rumour sites, shuts down in accordance with an agreement with Apple. Rumours fly about just how much money Apple paid Think Secret.
- Blu-ray has some troubles with cutting off Orlando Bloom's head, and sometimes even working for the enemy.

If it ain't broke... cease production. Right?
