Rumorama: CES Not Staying In Vegas Next Year?

Every year, CES produces a plethora of rumors, this year being no exception. I thought the biggest rumor from this year was everything surrounding the Blu-Ray/HD DVD melodrama... at least until I saw this report from Gearlog.
Rumors are flying as to the continued stay of CES in Vegas. What's fueling these rumors? A statement from a CEA spokesman referencing people's unhappiness with the rising cost of attending CES. Hotel rooms are skyrocketing and food and beverage costs continue to go up, and with the rise of the independent media (read: bloggers), not as many of the attendees can aford CES these days.
Two cities have been offered up as possible suggestions, both of which make me a happy homo: Chicago and Orlando. Both have great infrastructure and can easily handle the demands of CES. Chicago would be perfect for me (I live in Chicago) as I would save by not shelling out for a hotel, and all the queer techies would have wonderful Boystown to party in! But Orlando has the next best thing: Disney!
The fate of CES is up in the air, and I suppose we'll just have to wait and see!
