Sperm-Powered Nanobots Will Save Your Life!

Scientists at Cornell University have discovered a possibility for powering nanobots, which would be used for various medical purposes such as delivering medication directly to tumor cells: Sperm. The team has determined that the adenosine triphosphate, or ATP, within a sperm has the power to move 7 inches per hour on it's own, and if harnessed properly, could help move medical probes and viral fighting medicines through the human body. The initial tests used mouse sperm, but according to the researchers, mouse and human sperm are quite similar.
I suppose this lends new credence to the old Monty Python song Every Sperm Is Sacred. When I learned about this, I couldn't help but feel guilty about the millions of sperm I've personally wasted when it could have been put to good medical use! But I suppose only time will tell if this research will pan out. Given variables like actual sperm production versus synthetic sperm production, university/research funding, and crazy Christian politicos, we may never see this research come to fruition, but it is extremely fun to report on anyway!

I just like having a reason to use the word "spermbot."
