Google Prepares SharePoint Competitor

The ever-growing monolith Google announced their new program designed to aid work teams and school classes easily share information via the web, taking a direct aim at Microsoft's SharePoint software. The Google product will allow people to set up a quick-and-easy website and will incorporate features from all across it's other domains like YouTube, Google Docs, Picasa, and Google Calendar. And of course, as with all things Google (in particular all things Google does to take aim at Microsoft), the service is free, compared to SharePoint's licensing fees.
It truly does not seem that Google will back down from this dogfight they're in with Microsoft anytime soon. Almost every week, they roll out another Microsoft product competitor. Sometimes they're great, sometimes they leave something to be desired, but if they're free, they are almost always more enticing than the $100-$300 Microsoft wants for a similar product.
To get started, one person needs to sign in with their work or school email address, then invite others to the group. It seems like a pretty simple process all-in-all, and with these integrated tools, it could be very useful. Google also claims there are certain levels of protection that the group admin can use to provide some security to the whole process, for anyone worried about security.
