iPod Shuffle Grows To 2GB

Apple announced the coming of the new 2 gig iPod Shuffle today, doubling the size of the ultra portable (easily loosable, if you are me) mp3 player. The stylish Shuffle will continue to come in different colors so you can match it to your various running outfits, and the production of the current 1 gig model will continue as well. The new 2GB model will retail for $69 and the 1GB has dropped to $49.
It's a nice move, if you ask me. You get a larger flash-based mp3 player for $10 less than the smaller version used to cost (the 1GB previously sold for $79). And dropping the 1GB model to $49 puts the product close to the realm of realistic pricing. I may just have to pick one up for the summer, when I get to start being active out doors again.
