Microsoft Bids On Yahoo Again, $44 Billion

MS Yahoo.jpg

Microsoft has come forward with an official bid on Yahoo for $44.6 Billion today. While Yahoo says the bid is unsolicited, it has yet to reject the bid.

This isn't the first time that Microsoft has expressed interest in Yahoo, but with the Google's ever growing presence, now seems to be a good time for Microsoft to make a move. And with all the problems Yahoo has been faced with lately, this may seem like an attractive offer to their board.

There has been a lot of speculation and questioning behind the move, but it seems more like a strategic move to ensure they stay competitive in the market. We've seen other moves like this lately, specifically from Amazon and Audible.

I'm not sure I can add much more to the speculation at this point, but News.com has a great write up on the possible motivations and likelihood of this deal going through.

Actually, it was $44 BILLION, not million (which would have been a very cheap bid)
