Microsoft Half-Asses A Price Cut On Vista

We've seen a few stories over the past few days regarding a recent price cut of Windows Vista, and not all of them have been accurate. Mainly that's due the the confusing nature of Microsoft's price structure (I know, it's hard to believe that MS would have a confusing price set-up for their Windows versions), but it's also due to Microsoft just not telling us what's going on. So the folks over at CNET put it together correctly for us all.
At the end of the day, consumers will see a price cut of $80 on Vista Ultimate and $30 on Home Premium, making them $219 and $129 respectively. None of the other versions have received a price cut, and only the retail box versions of the controversial OS are getting slashed. Manufacturer's will still be paying the same price, which makes this an odd decision for MS, because that's where the vast majority of OS sales come from. Not to mention that if you bought a computer that is able to run Vista, you probably bought it in the last year, and you probably had Vista pre-loaded.
So let me clarify: If you are one of the (presumably) many customers that has purchased a computer within the past year, and made sure that it is fact Vista Capable, and opted to pre-load XP instead because you are not confident with Vista, and you have extra money to blow on an OS after what you shelled out for your PC, you're in luck!
What? Oh... I suppose that isn't a very large audience. But hey, it's cheaper now, so don't you want to buy it? I mean, I know you probably just turned off your PC and walked into an Apple store, but... maybe you want to dual boot into Windows? Maybe? ... please?

BlackBerry Bold
I've been running Vista for about 18 months now and while it has been reliable, too many times I have needed to use XP devices or programs that Vista will just not work with.
Sadly, I've thought about switch back to XP more than once. I've also thought about switching to a MacBook even more than going back to XP.

Come to the Apple side! MUAHAHAHA!
