Touch Phone From Iriver

Engadget has a hands-on with one of the least off-putting touchscreen phones I've seen in a while. After the iPhone it's no secret that would-be "it" phones have their work cut out for them - especially esthetically. The new W7 (or however it's eventually christened) is a pretty looking baby from iriver that boasts a 3", 480x272 touchscreen display, a Linux-based UI that seems to match the iPhone feature for feature, and specs that rival the market gorilla: 4GB of flash storage, Rhapsody support alongside traditional media support, GPS, mobile TV of an undisclosed flavor, 2 megapixel camera with video and Adobe Flash support.
Owen Kwon of iriver has promised that the phone will be less expensive than the iPhone when it becomes available, which is purported to be before the end of the year. That long in the future, however, makes any kind of feature matchup with the iPhone kind of speculative, as who knows what the iPhone will be able to do in nine months? Give birth?

If it ain't broke... cease production. Right?
