Verizon Likely Victor In C Block Auction

In even more Verizon news, analysts are predicating Verizon's triumph in the C block purchase of the 700MHz spectrum. While the bidding isn't completely over yet, it seems likely that Verizon will run away with the C Block, and considering the bidding has crossed the $4.6 Billion "openness" threshold dictated by the FCC, it seems all parties are relatively happy with this.
Of course, we can't be certain who pushed the bidding over the threshold, but I think it's a safe guess that Google casually put its name in for the block knowing full well that Verizon would leap frog their bid. The threshold being passed means that whoever wins the Block is required to keep the network open to whomever wants to use it.
Will the airwaves soon be dominated by the Goliath that is Verzion? Only time will tell, but it seems a safe bet at this point.

There are few things in this world that I truly love, but what Google is trying to do for the internet, both with this bid and with trying to stave off Microsoft from buying Yahoo, has really made me say I truly love Google.
