Netflix Ponies Up To Xbox 360

netflixenvelope.jpg

In yet another move confirming the Michael Bay hypothesis concerning Microsoft and the future of video entertainment, Netflix has confirmed rumors that it is interested in bringing streaming movies to the Xbox 360, thus expanding its own business profile and bringing a heaping serving of tried-and-true brand name plausibility to Microsoft's dreams of out-iTunesing iTunes where movies are concerned.

At the moment Netflix only offers so-called "instant" viewing to monthly subscribers willing to dish out $17 a month or more, so a pairing with Microsoft would bring a rush of potential new customers to that distribution modality. However, Netflix has already partnered with LG to produce set-top movie-streaming hardware, so who knows - those moves could be compatible with one another, in theory.

your needlessly sarcastic statement: "At the moment Netflix only offers so-called "instant" viewing to monthly subscribers willing to dish out $17 a month or more," is in fact wrong.
