Safari 3.1 Released!
While there's been plenty of talk around Homotron of new Firefox versions, let's not forget that other browser for us Mac (and some Windows) users, and my personal favourite - Apple's Safari.
Apple released a new version of Safari today with Safari 3.1, which brings with it a whole slew of updates.
What's so special about this update?
Well, you won't see anything new when you start up the browser, but the real magic is underneath: Safari 3.1 incorporates the latest improvements in the open source WebKit rendering engine, which means even faster page loads and renders, and, if you're like me and have been fed up with Safari's slow Javascript performance - up to 2.5x faster Javascript execution!
Of interest to web developers and web standards nazis (like me), Safari also now sports support for the new audio and video tags from the HTML 5 spec, and also adds support for CSS Animations and CSS Fonts - the first major browser to do so.
Safari 3.1 is now available for both Windows and Mac OS X.

I played around with 3.1 today in Windows and it is MUCH faster. Plus it finally acts like a Windows app (window resizing via all 4 corners).
I think I may have found my new default browser. It is sexy fast. Now if they would just add an option to prompt for cookies instead of allow/disallow all.
