Windows 7 Coming In 2010

We previously reported, through a rumour post, that Windows 7, the successor to the maligned Windows Vista, would be coming in 2009.
Unfortunately, Microsoft denied a 2009 release date for Windows 7 soon afterwards, and claimed that Windows 7 development would take "three years." (Where have we heard that claim from Microsoft before?)
This led people to believe that meant Windows 7 was coming in 2011, but no official word from the Microsoft mothership had confirmed the rumour, and so it sat, gathering dust.
Today, we have official confirmation from Microsoft that the "three years" began as soon as Windows Vista was released to the general public (that was January of 2007, if your memory is not being helpful at the moment), which means that Windows 7 is now officially confirmed for a 2010 release!
For those of you looking for a better operating system than Windows XP; however, I wouldn't hold your breath, as I seem to recall similar claims about Windows Vista's release date from Microsoft, before it was delayed year after year.
My prediction: Late 2011, maybe 2012. Mark my words.
