Video: Segway RMP Continues Trend Towards Creepy Robots

Using mecanum wheels (which are really hypnotic to watch in action) and some of the guts from the infamous Segway personal transporter, the same company has produced this awesome robot called the Segway RMP that can move in any direction without having to turn:

I have to agree with Phillip Torrone: much like the super creepy BigDog that currently stalks the hallways around our labs, the way in which the Segway RMP moves sends heeby jeebies down my spine... in a good robot pr0n way.

The device can carry up to 400lbs. and the Segway folks said it may cost upwards of $50k when it's made available. Ouch.

Maybe work on lowering that price tag a little bit, eh? Den Den can't survive on ramen alone, Segway.
