When R&D Has Too Much Free Time: The Music Mug

Well here's a speaker I definitely don't want: the Music Mug, a portable speaker for your iPod or any other PMP that looks like, well, a mug. No, I'd go so far as to say that it is a mug, which would be the part with which I take issue.

The concept is simple: drop in your music player, plug in the mug's headphone jack (what? You were expecting an elegant interface from a freaking mug?) and rock out. It even comes in colors!

At $69, it's a bit pricey for an awkward portable speaker of undetermined aural quality - but you know, variety makes the world go round, and I'm sure somewhere there's an artist's table stacked with jars of paintbrushes and turpentine where the Music Mug would be a welcome, if affected, musical touch.

Just don't give it to me.
