Let me rephrase that: I share your mother's concern with visible clutter and wires due to metastasizing technology sweeping out from the television to embrace my once-darling living room in an orgy of black polystyrene and dust bunnies.

Mounting the speakers on a wooden stand not only braces against interference on two planes, but the spheres themselves help create uniform sound. I'll buy that. I mean, I won't, because anything with an unlisted price is by its very nature too expensive for words, but I'd sure like to buy 'em.
