Grand Theft Auto: GPS Edition Hits Japan

Oy. Crime doesn't pay, people. Just ask Mitsuhisa Kobayashi, a 'criminal mastermind' from Hyogo Prefecture in Japan, where Kobayashi ran a GPS-related car theft scheme. He managed to steal eight cars and sell five of them over the internet (wait, maybe crime does pay?).
Not only that, but the fellow used two of his ex-wives to pull of the scam - they would rent cars, copy the keys and install GPS units or GPS-capable cellphones into the autos. Then Kobayashi would track the cars and steal them out from under his "unsuspecting" accomplices.
Technology is indeed the key to crime in the 21st century. Unfortunately, there's no technological solution for genuine human stupidity - the two Mrs. Kobayashis used their regular IDs, leading Japanese feds directly to this would-be Nico Bellic's doorstep.
