Patriotic Mp3 Player Makes Me Hate America Even More

Over the weekend I was driving through the suburbs of Massachusetts when I saw an American flag painted on the roof of a house. My automatic reaction to this horrible breed of jingoism is always a Grade-A Slattery Sneer.

"That cheapens the whole idea of everything," I recall saying.

So imagine my disgust when I came across the Zvue Spirit MP3 player this morning. I mean, talk about misguided jingoism! Talk about flag-humping opportunism! Talk about a great weight-loss technique first thing Monday morning, making me barf out all of yesterday's sushi.

This honky honkin' piece of shit comes with 1GB of storage and preloaded Americana songs like "I Feel Good" by James Brown (???) and an inappropriate amount of cliche Lynyrd Skynyrd songs.

Can you spell cheap exploitation of national tragedy and consumer stupidity? I can't.
