Another Camera Phone: Motorola's Motozine ZN5

Well now, as the battle for the ultimate cell phone OS heats up, it seems another competition is picking up steam: Who can have the most camery-est camera phone of all! While this fight may seem very pedestrian and 2002 to us and our readers, the reality is that many people don't have a need or desire for a "fancy" phone that does all them there internets thingies. And to those people go the spoils of this particular battle.
Motorola announced today their newest attempt at a comeback, the Motozine ZN5. The ZN5 is a joint venture with Kodak, and is looking to fill in the niche camera phone market, just like Sony's recently announced Cyber Shot C905. The ZN5 will feature a 5 MP camera, as well as some fairly impressive on-the-go picture editing tools provided via Kodak's EasyShare software. I'm not the biggest fan of Kodak's image editing software, but having a few of those tools available on the fly is pretty nice.
The camera is also built with a phone user's mentality. There are optimized settings for low-light environments, quick image enhancement, integrated uploading to various social networks, and a flash the works well (at least according to the press release) and doesn't drain your battery. There's also support up to 4G of external memory, which is a nice touch as well.
While the ZN5's camera is only 5MP compared to Sony Cyber Shot C905's 8MP, it seems that the ZN5 has more overall useful features. Uploading pics on the go is great, and being able to do a few touch-ups before hand is even better. And while I know most of us are salivating over the iPhone 3G (the rest of us over Android), this may be a great secondary phone to bring to the amusement park or to recommend to a friend that's scared by tech.
And, as is sadly par for the course these days, the press release did not specify a release date or price point, only stating that China should see this phone by end of summer, with the States seeing it around the end of the year.
