Flock 2.0 Beta Surfaces With Firefox 3 Goodies

Looks like I may have spoke a tad bit quickly in my post earlier today concerning Flock's inevitable integration of Firefox 3 code. As it turns out, you won't have to wait a few weeks to see what it'll be like, because the beta version of Flock 2.0 is available now! Flock 2.0 is built based on the Firefox 3 code, and looks to incorporated the best parts of Firefox 3 and Flock 1: all the social networking goodness of Flock mixed with the increased efficiency, download manager, and "awesome bar" of Firefox 3. Personally, I'm hoping for increased speed and start-up time as those are my biggest complaints with Flock.

Of course, this is still a Beta, as Firefox 3 isn't really out until tomorrow. Technically, there really isn't going to be much different between last weeks release of Firefox Release Candidate 3 that popped up last week and this weeks Final Build, so there probably won't be too much work to do from there.

I'll be playing around with Flock 2.0 and Firefox 3 over the coming weeks and bringing ya'll opinions and thoughts soon. Likewise, feel free to comment on any of these posts or email me your thoughts and opinions on the new browsers. I would love to hear some feedback on what our readers think. Being a big web-techy myself, this looks to be an exciting week of browser tinkering!

Oh, and btw, I hate you for introducing me to Flock. I never cared about my facebook friends before, or my youtube friends, or anything else flock makes it painfully easy to keep up with…
