Video: Moog Guitar - Infinite Sustain And Mute Comes To Guitars
While I'm not a guitar player, I do compose music and play other intruments, and this video of the new Moog Guitar by the famous (in the music world) folks at Moog Music is incredibly impressive:
The special sauce is in the ability for the guitar to infinitely sustain notes as their played, causing a whole new range of sounds to be coaxed out of a guitar. Not only that, but you can also flip that same technology in the guitar to allow you to immediately mute the guitar strings after you play them, making your guitar almost banjo/sitar like in sound.
While some of these effects could be done through special effects filters before, the Mogg Guitar accomplishes them physically by actually manipulating the strings themselves. Wild.
All this cool sound doesn't come cheap, as you'll have to drop $6,500 for this aural wonder at Moog Music's site.
