Mozilla's Download Day Still Going Strong

Mozilla's record defining Download Day is still going strong this morning folks! I say record defining because the actual record doesn't quite exist yet for most downloads in a day, it's a record being created by the Guinness Book of World Records specifically for this event. I suppose that means that it can be broken in the futureā¦
In any case, you can check out a real-time map of the downloads per country over at Spread Firefox. It's a pretty nifty looking map, to be honest, and for those nationalists out there, the U.S. is leading the pack by far with well over two million downloads and no one else even close. That kinda makes me wonder if Firefox is pretty much an American phenomenon, or if we're just suckers for hype. Either way, there's some other interesting info there, like the fact that the Republic of Congo has 6 downloads. Who are those 6 people? American consulates? I mean, war-torn Iraq is out pacing them with 189! And who would have thought that the bastion of American-hate mongering in the Middle-East, Iran, would have more than 175,000 downloads of the browser!
Download Day is still going strong until 11:16 AM PST, 2:16 EST, so you still have time to jump on the bandwagon! They currently have nearly 7 million downloads, and there's still room for more! Hell, if nothing else, we need to make Colbert proud and ensure that the U.S. remains #1 in the download race!
