Don't Do The Worm: FBI Warns Of New Storm Virus

Yesterday the FBI and the Internet Crime Complaint Center, or IC3, released information concerning a new variant of the Storm Worm botnet virus. The e-mail containing the new variant has a subject line that reads "F.B.I. vs. Facebook," and contains a phony link that will rickroll you (I guess "Dickroll" is a better term...) by downloading the Storm botnet onto your poor computer.
I'm guessing that none of our Homotron readers would fall prey to this in the first place, but clicking links is a lot more instinctive than downloading infected files - I've been guilty of clicking without thinking before (or drinking and clicking, which is its own separate problem!).
"The spammers spreading this virus are preying on Internet users and making their computers an unwitting part of criminal botnet activity," said the FBI in a press release. "We urge citizens to help prevent the spread of botnets by becoming web-savvy."
I know you're web-savvy, reader, but forewarned is forearmed!

If I could give you points for the Futurama pic, I would.
