iPhones Sales And Apps Sell Ridiculously Well

I have to admit, Apple pulled in some impressive numbers over the weekend. In just 3 days, the iPhone 3G sold 1 million units. I don't believe that has ever been done for a phone, and if so, not in a long while. Just as emphasis, assuming the subsidy on the phone is $200, Apple made somewhere between $400 million and $500 million in a weekend. And that's just from the phone itself.

Apple was also able to convince people to download over 10 million apps since the software upgrade. A good chunk of the apps out there now are free to download, but there are more pay-to-use apps than free. Apple hasn't really released any figures on what is being downloaded, but from personal experience, I can say I downloaded, played with, then uninstalled, a crap ton of the free apps. I'm reserving purchasing any of them until I see some solid reviews.

Any way you look at it though, this thing is a success. Yeah, there were problems on launch day, and there are still some kinks that need to be worked out of the 3G network, but all in all, this thing is just another Golden Egg for Jobs and Crew.

So, yeah.. Google, it's been broughten!
