Psystar Finally Gets What's Comin' From Apple

It finally happened: Apple has sued cheap-o Macintosh OS manufacturer Psystar. After Psystar's ultra-cheap, customizable Mac rip-off hit the market, doomsayers stood around twiddling thumbs, waiting for Apple to pounce. Finally, the day of reckoning has come.
The claim is that Psystar violated Apple's licenses and trademarks, as well as committed copyright infringement.
Part of me says Yay! Part of me bows my head a bit. Opening the Mac OS to the world wouldn't be the worst thing ever, would it? A little healthy competition? Imagine outside developers attempting to capture the sexy sleekness of Apple products—imagine how effing hot they'd be, and how Apple's assumed superior products would have to lower in price.
Then again, Steve Jobs said no no no 11 years ago. Psystar should've known better.

3D iPhone glasses. Why?
I'd like to see Apple very conservatively license for specific models that they're not interested in making. The HP Touchsmart would be a good design to get involved with, and a space they'd be smart to kick Windows out of.
Of course, what I really want is a powerful, upgradeable machine that's good with games but can still run OS X, but that would lead them down the same road of price undercutting they experienced the first time they allowed clones.
Call me an apple lover, but I love that apple maintains tight control over how their software operates. Okay, yeah the software isn't perfect, but at least the developers know the configurations for every machine they're building for.
@Andy B: I think you're onto something there.
@hyppolytus: While this may be true, it doesn't mean outside developers couldn't do it BETTER.
