Aurora: Too Much Or Too Cool?
A good friend of mine shot out a Tweet last night concerning the above video, claiming it was the one of the coolest things he'd ever seen (Shout out to you Eric!). Being that Eric is a big ol' techy like myself, I new it had to be something worth watching, so I followed the link to watch the Aurora concept video, the same video as above. Despite the relative quality of the video itself, the concepts presented seemed pretty damned cool!
Aurora looked like the massive web/desktop integration that many have predicted and hoped for a long time now. The instant interaction and content grouping were all there, as well as a pretty nifty looking presentation. But I couldn't help but feel like it seemed a bit impractical. On top of the practicality issues (the foremost being the willingness of software developers to create fully inter-operable programs), I felt like the whole thing looked cluttered. Icons docked all around the edges is way too Windows on crack, and the flow bar at the bottom was a little too Mac gone bloated, not to mention the huddled masses of programs on documents grouped into clouds. Eric disagreed with me and pointed out that this is a concept for 5-10 years out, and that the design seemed pretty sleek overall.
Which made me wonder what everyone else thinks. After watching this video, do you think the Mozilla's Aurora concept is just cool? Or, does it look a little too crazy? What would you like to see in the future of Internet browsing?

BlackBerry Bold
I can't give an opinion of Aurora as I fell into a coma during the scintillating discussion of the weather.
5-10 years for this? Just make it now. Seems like an expensive service not a browser, that could take time to find a market for I guess.
I think it looks cool, cool doesn't make it usable though, i think it looks cluttery and complicated and that think the woman said "it's gotta be here somewhere" sounds like "I don't know where this thing keeps my stuff and the on the go seems too much cool but too much, i mean we already are in the future, what do i want in the future of browsing... well idk but im quite happy using safari, iphone and ipod touch have safari and a bunch of cool stuff so why do i need an extra mobile device to finish looking at what i was browsing maybe they can make some kind of sync/wireless sync thing goin on for web browsers and idk an iphone/ipod touch
Haha, did anyone watch all four parts? There is definitely a gay couple in the last video, at least judging by 'when you guys have a family of your own someday.' Nice one, Mozilla. :)
