iPhone Getting 3G Firmware Fix In September

Business Week reports that two reliable sources say that Apple will be releasing a firmware update in September that will ameliorate the 3G inconsistencies regarding the iPhone 3G.
Apparently an Infineon chip inside the phone is indeed the squeaky wheel, although the exact function of that chip remains unknown. (baseband processors, power management chips, radio transceivers and GPS chips, oh my!)
Each source seems to blame a different company for the mega-snafu, however, with one pointing the finger at Infineon, the other at Apple. Luckily they both agree on the update and its timing.
