Microsoft Dropping Jerry Seinfeld From Ads, Says It Was "Planned"

I really hate to link to news leaked by Valleywag (*shudders*), but they get the credit on this one: Microsoft has announced that they are now dropping Jerry Seinfeld from its $300 million ad campaign, saying the move was "planned."
Despite my serious doubt regarding how "planned" Jerry's disappearance from the ads is, it seems The New York Times confirms this plan, saying the next phase will take a much more direct approach against Apple's Get a Mac ads:
One new Microsoft commercial even begins with a company engineer who resembles John Hodgman, the comedian portraying the loser PC character in the Apple campaign. "Hello, I'm a PC," the engineer says, echoing Mr. Hodgman's recurring line, "and I've been made into a stereotype."
Is this the right move? Do you believe Microsoft's spin? Comment below!

Oh my, that felt good. Planned? Planned like a Palin pregnancy.

No Seinfeld? Good, I never really enjoyed his show. Don't know why I always felt it was one of those shows that had gay or ethnic jokes. :\ As I said I "felt" it was one of those shows, can't say it was.
