Second MS/Seinfeld/Gates/wtfizgoinonwithvista Ad Released
Only a week after the first ad in Microsoft's new ad campaign featuring Jerry Seinfeld and Bill Gates was released, the big MS has released another in the series. This one finds J-Feld and Billy G shaking up with some "real people" to get connected. Get it. Get connected. The theme of the commercial series, it would seem. Yeah, if you're saying no, you don't get it, then you're up there with me, cause I'm not sure I get it either.
However, I actually thought this ad was kind of funny and even a little cute. I didn't really find much to praise about the first ad, but at least this one makes a point. What do you think, is this going to go anywhere, or just be another weird, expensive ad campaign?
Second Gates-Seinfeld Ad Shows They're Very Rich, Unlike Us [Gizmodo]

Within one hour of its unboxing, The One became the undisputed ruler of Tiny's entire home. Buy this or despair.
It feels like it's trying too hard. WAAAAAAY too hard.
Yes, unlike the first one there were points where I laughed- but for the most part I still got the overwhelming sense of "What the hell am I watching?"
I don't know- to me its not exactly a successful campaign when you ask someone "soooooo, what did you get out of this?" and they respond with "Bill Gates and Seinfeld are two selfish freeloading rich guys who love to torture strangers by living in their homes."
I liked this one. The first one I didn't understand at all. Now, it's starting to make sense.
But I still find the entire thing depressing. Here is one of the richest people in the world from one of the most powerful companies in the world and with all that power and resource all they can do is make a "funny" commercial?
I know the Gates foundation does some wonderful things, but this whole thing makes me feel a little sick.
Who wants to see Gates or Sinefeld in any commercials at all? Not me.
I like seeing Bill on a commercial :).
Seinfeld on the other hand was never a show I tuned in for. I'm glad Microsoft is trying to get its own ads on. I understand the appeal and potential of Macs, but I don't like Apple bashing my machines constantly.
It was a nice commercial over all.
that's very allegorical to how windows works. it's kinda doesn't
