Current TV Partners With Digg, Twitter For Election Night

current_logo.jpg

This coming Tuesday could be a nail-biting, history-making evening. Many people will be waiting anxiously by their TV set, radio, Twitter feed, whatever to find out if we will be blowing up Iran or attempting to regain control of our country Barack Obama becomes our next president or that other guy. And while there will surely be a multitude of ways to watch the culmination of the past year's worth of campaigning, I have to say that the most interesting sounding way to watch will be on Current TV.

Why would Current TV, the network founded by Al Gore, be interesting at all? Well, during the Presidential Debates, Current featured a live stream of Twitter reactions to the candidates. While I have to say that some of the Tweets were just silly, most provided an extremely entertaining alternative to CNN's lame "live opinion feed" thingy. For Election Night, Current has stepped it up a notch to integrate with Twitter and Digg, featuring live streams of activity along side active commentary and talking heads, et al.

As with the debates, you can watch Current's coverage on it's cable channel if you have it, or you can stream it live on their site if Current isn't part of your cable line up (it really should be, it's a great station). As for me, I'll be patiently waiting in Grant Park here in Chicago to here Barack give his acceptance speech.
