Gadget Of The Week: BlackBerry Storms Into Touchscreen Age

Oy - it's been a rough week, so I'm just now getting around to some Gadget of the Weekage, but this week's nominee is no surprise: the just-revealed BlackBerry Storm, AKA Thunder, AKA the touchscreen BlackBerry. And while most of RIM's keypad-happy enterprise customers are most likely not drooling over the handset, which will be available by the holiday season - with pricing information to come - RIM has to keep up with the Joneses Apples.
But the Storm's touchscreen is unlike any we've seen, using RIM's ClickThrough technology that lies beneath the display: it gives you tactile feedback, which most certainly will appeal to QWERTY-fans. Turning virtual buttons into actual buttons sounds like a feat, and it's something I've heard tech fans gabbing about for ages.
In other aspects the Storm presents well: a 3.25" half-VGA 480x320 screen, MicroSD slot, HTML browser without Glash, Bluetooth, GPS, and updated BlackBerry OS 4.7. 1GB onboard memory and support for multiple audio/video formats as well as a 3.2 MP camera. Missing are WiFi and the price point - and it's the latter which will make or break the Storm.

Within one hour of its unboxing, The One became the undisputed ruler of Tiny's entire home. Buy this or despair.
