Happy G1 Android Day!

Well, it's finally here. Today is the official launch of the G1 Android phone, so many a technophile will be living happy today.

All T-Mobile stores opened at 8 AM today to meet increased demand. We've seen reviews of the phone and it also appears that many people that pre-ordered were able to get their hands on the phone early.

Is it me, or is there just not as much fanfare around this launch? Is it because it's not really a Google-made phone? Are people burnt out on phone launches for the year? Or is Apple just that good at over-hyping and under-delivering?
