Official Obama '08 App For iPhone Released!

Now here's an great new application for all of you who are politically minded: the Obama campaign has released an official Obama '08 application for iPhone!

The application provides you with a mobile campaign office in your hand, all in a slick little package that provides Obama supporters with features to help them get involved in the campaign and reach their friends and family:

• Call Friends: A great volunteering tool that lets you make a difference any time you want by talking to people you already know. Your contacts are prioritized by key battleground states (It's very happy I know so many people in Florida), and you can make calls and organize results all in one place.
• Call Stats: See nationwide Obama '08 Call Friends totals and find out how your call totals compare to leading callers. (It's like Gamerscore, but for Obama!)
• Get Involved: Do more. Find and contact your local Obama for America HQ. (Uses GPS to find your location.)
• Receive Updates: Receive the latest news and announcements via text messages or email.
• News: Browse complete coverage of national and local campaign news.
• Local Events: Find local events, share by email and get maps and directions. (Also leverages GPS to find events near you.)
• Media: Browse videos and photos from the campaign
• Issues: Get clear facts about Barack Obama and Joe Biden's plan for essential issues facing Americans.

After playing around with the application, I'm pretty impressed. It'll certainly be an asset to anyone that's out there wanting to help convince friends and family to vote for Obama, and provides easy access to local event information much more easily than Obama's site.

Once again, the Obama campaign shows where its bread is being buttered: the young Internet generation, complete with iPhones in tow.
