Speaking Of Having Sex...

Hookupmaps. The name pretty much says it all. Maps + hookups = lots of interesting opportunities. At it's core, Hookupmaps.com is a mash up of Google Maps and Craigslist. One the surface, Hookupmaps is a virtual brothel, with buttons, filters, bells and whistles*. It's a pretty simple concept, and one that, I'm sure, will catch on. Adding a visual element to anything always helps, and giving people a way to visualize where their next trick is, and responding to that trick from the same site, is almost perfect. Almost. Still not quite a GPS-enabled iPhone web-app or Android app yet, but I'm pretty sure those will follow shortly.

To be honest, I'm surprised that this is the first site I've seen that does this. I'm really surprised there isn't a dedicated iPhone app to do it yet either. That's pretty much the first thing I imagined when I thought of GPS in the iPhone 3G. You may say that's sad, but I know my gay family. Just take a gander at most of the location-aware iPhone apps and tell me they haven't morphed into some form of gay hookup service?

In any case, if you are a fan of the Craigslists "casual encounters" section, have at it! It only indexes certain cities as of right now, but I have a feeling this is going to get much bigger and plenty of people will make use of it as time goes. And now that we know how beneficial gay sex is to the world, we should all do our duty and have plenty of it, so I expect to see everyone's ads up shortly!
