Video: October 14 Apple Notebook Event Keynote

apple_october_14_2008_notebook_event_video.jpg

As promised during my live meta-coverage of the special Apple notebook event earlier today, Apple has posted the link to the video of the keynote.

The video sees the unveiling of the brand new MacBooks and MacBook Pros, as well as a brand new 24-inch LED backlit desktop display from Apple - their first new display in several years.

The keynote video also includes an interesting explanation and video mini-documentary regarding Apple's new "unibody" case manufacturing process that Apple touts as a sturdier, cheaper, sexier way of building laptops than ever before. Jonathan Ives even makes a rare public appearance to explain the design process in detail.

Why can't we get an Apple Cinema Display with a built-in iSight at 20"? I frakkin' hate my Logitech "fix", but 24" is too big (and more importantly, too expensive). People who shell out the bucks for the Mac Pro somehow get shafted? Not everyone has unlimited desk space, you know.

(Uh-oh, I've been told it's time for me to go to the Apple re-education camp. Be back in a week.)

Hey, I'm not a mac owner, but I was really hoping they would materialize the ibrick, the ultra slick mac. :\ You have to give it to Apple the mac is nice, and all ready slick, but the ibrick would rock.

Also we were all hoping the prices would come down.
