Further Circuit City Woes

It looks like it's not just the stores that are feeling the pinch over at Circuit City. Rumors are circulating that their corporate offices are also feeling the weight of the axe.

Gizmodo is reporting massive layoffs at the flailing retailers HQ, upwards of 600 jobs there. For an added bonus, it doesn't appear that the company is offering any form of severance to the layed-off employees, simply a box sitting in their cube. Some reports are even suggesting that the po-po are on hand to handle any "situations" that might arise.

Anyone still hanging on to hope that Circuit City will be around for the long run, you might want to reevaluate that position right about now.
