Google Shuttering Google Lively

In what could possibly be Google's shortest beta period yet (zing!), Google Lively, the service launched in July that created virtual 3D spaces for people to embed in sites, is being shut down at the end of December, due to "reprioritisation of resources" (aka it doesn't have enough users for us to devote time and money to during a recession.)
Never mind that Lively was... pretty crappy, you have to admit. Second Life Website edition?
Yeah, no.
The service was just ironically devoid of the life its name suggested. Can't win 'em all, eh Google?
