Rumorama: Kindle 2 In Early '09

I know a few people who absolutely love their Kindle, so I won't make jokes about missing paper - but Kindle lovers may eventually find themselves torn between their beloved book reader and its newer, younger brother, which Crunch Gear now puts at an early 2009 release. Amazon has continually denied that we'd see a new Kindle in 2008, and as Crunch Gear writes:

"It was scheduled to be released in October in time for this holiday season, but Bezos himself reportedly pulled the plug for last minute changes to the software. Our sources now say it's tentatively scheduled to go on sale in 'early next quarter.'"

Crunch Gear was wrong about the Kindle 2 last time, but it's a pretty safe bet to say that we'll see something new from Amazon's Kindle department in 2009. What improvements we might see, and whether or not those improvements will be useful in drawing any new customers - that's the big question.
