Video: Blackbird Rider: Compact Carbon Fibre Guitar Of The Future!
I'm a sucker for mixing traditional instruments with modern technology, so imagine my joy at seeing the Blackbird Rider from Blackbird Guitars: a carbon fibre guitar with a hollow neck that allows for full resonance in a smaller body than traditional guitars:
It reminds me of an episode I watched of How It's Made (one of my favourite shows!) where they showed carbon fibre cellos being made. A fascinating process! (watch the episode here)
Blackbird sells two versions of the Rider: a steel and nylon stringed version, at $1600 and $1900 dollars each. Beauty and technology don't come cheap.
