Frostbite = Great Deals

Did anyone else go out in the madness this weekend? Here in Chicago, we saw snow all day on Saturday along with a -30 Windchill factor, and Sunday was about the same minus the snow. However, my crazy ass, along with half the Chicagoland area, decided we must go shopping over the freezing weekend. Despite the absurdly uncalled for temperatures, there were some amazing sales going on all over the place!

Many stores had upwards of 50% everything, and many of our favorite electronics and gizmos were also on sale, although they were closer to the 20% range. Sadly for this technophile, I was looking for new winter clothes (inspired by the unmentionably cold weather) so I was not able to take advantage of the tech sales, but I'm curious how many of our readers caught these deals?

Honestly, I've never seen so many sales during the last weekend before Christmas. Hell, when I worked retail for a few years, we would jack up the prices on high demand items during that weekend because we knew how people procrastinated on shopping. I suppose the economic downturn has something to do with it, but regardless, those of us in a position to splurge made out with a few deals.
